Our sincere sympathy to Mary and all the family on Johns death. He was a newly qualified teacher when I started secondary school and was a gifted educator, with a abiding interest in the welfare of all his pupils. Later on, when our own children attended the school, they had the good fortune to
have John as Principal, and he always made time to give advice and direction to students, and indeed to any parent who had issues or concerns about their children.
Years later, if I met John in town, I would be shocked that he could remember all our childrens names and ask about every one of them!
