Deepest Sympathies and Sincere Condolences to John’s sons Eoin, Diarmaid, Cormac, his Sisters Mary and Breege, Daughter-in-Law Laura, and to all the extended Blehein and Kelly Families, and to his many friends, on the sad and untimely passing of John. John was good and ever-giving of himself to everyone, especially young people in the Army Reserve. He had no hesitation in helping them with fitness and training, often giving up his own time for same. He gave guidance, encouragement and advice in any way he could for courses, careers and life. He had a warm presence and will be greatly missed by us all. We had the great privilege of going to France with John in 2018, where we toured the WWI and WWII battlefields and sites. He had amazing knowledge, insight and enthusiasm for life, an uplifting humour and great kindness and humanity. We cherish all our memories of John, and are thankful for the privilege of having known him. He made an ever-lasting footprint and impact on the lives of those who knew him, always for the better and that will never be forgotten. He lives on in all his good deeds, and they are many. May He Rest Peacefully with his Beloved Maeve in Heaven.

We were deeply saddened to hear of John’s passing and want to extend our heartfelt condolences to his family. It feels especially poignant that he was with us in Newport just last weekend at the Féile céilí. John danced every dance with enthusiasm and joy, and brought great energy and enjoyment to the floor — it was lovely to see him having such a good time, and we’ll remember him that way.
