James Gaughan (better known as Seamus)

Gaughan, Seamus

Emlybeg North, Belmullet, Co. Mayo and formerly of Mitchem, London – peacefully, at Áras Deirbhle Nursing Home, Belmullet on 22nd November 2025.

Predeceased by his parents Malachy (Lacky) and Ellen (née Coyle) Gaughan and his niece Rita.

He will be missed and fondly remembered by his loving family, sisters Bridie, Mary, Sheila, Annie and Josephine, brothers Paddy, Frank, Richard (Dick) and Malachy, brothers in law, sisters in law, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, relatives, kind neighbours and many friends.

May His Kind and Gentle Soul Rest in Peace.

Seamus will lie in repose at McDonnell’s Funeral Home, Belmullet on Monday evening from 5 o’clock until 7 o’clock with funeral arriving at St. Joseph’s Church, Binghamstown at 8 o’clock.

Funeral Mass on Tuesday at 12 noon followed by burial in Emlybeg cemetery.

Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu, if desired, to the “Aras Deirbhle Nursing Home, Belmullet”, c/o McDonnell Funeral Directors, Belmullet.
