It is with a very heavy & lonely heart that we said goodbye to our dearest neighbour Ita yesterday. 💔
Living 2 doors away for 48 years Ita was like a second mother to us in every way. She was always concerned for our health & wellbeing.
I loved to call down to Ita because we would have the best fun & chat & her wit would leave me coming out smiling always. We would come home from Dublin on a Sunday evening & Ita would have her freshly brown bread left at the door for us.
I could go on & on. She was just one in a million.
She has left a great legacy behind her & to her wonderful family who looked after her with so much love &care & kindness our Deepest Condolences to each & everyone of you & also the extended families.
Ita we will never forget you you were a wonderful special Neighbour &we loved you so much.

It is with such sadness that we learned of Ita’s death – the most amazing, charismatic, caring and entertaining lady of Ballina. Lovely memories of Ita go back to chatting to her in her shop on Circular Road, then as a dedicated mother to her two lovely daughters while students in St Mary’s, her moving to Childers Hts, her strength and grief during Mort’s illness and death, her dedication to the Pioneer movement and her visits to St Mary’s to speak to the Young Pioneer movement , and all that time sharing her wit and wisdom whenever we met. You never failed to come away from a meeting Ita without a smile on your face. Our heartfelt condolences to Gerry &Gráinne , Mary, Dolores, Dermot &Joan, and Adrian, her adored grandchildren and all the extended Halloran and Mc Loughlin families. ‘We are jealous of the angels around the throne tonight’.

Deepest condolence to all the Halloran family. Ita and myself met regularly after 10am Mass in St. Muredachs Cathedral knowing that she was a Pioneer I would ask her for a few bob to go for a pint. Then we would catch up on football matches and any other news of the day. I always came away feeling in great form after talking to Ita. Then sometimes she would ask me to buy tickets for the Pioneers social. I never refused Ita. She was a Lady to her fingertips. Safe journey home Ita tell them all we said hello.
