To Billy, Erika and John and the extended Bourke and Cowman families. There’s not much to say that probably hasn’t been said already. But Breaffy has lost one of it’s dearest “mammies”. For decades I’ve been goin up to Bourkes for a visit and a chat and a cuppa and did so as recently as two weeks ago, when I interrupted Irene painting the windows outside while Billy held the paint can. Nearly 40 years ago Billy and Irene gave me my first “start” when, as part of my summer job, I took on painting the front wall. Literally every visit since has been a bundle of enjoyment and laughs, in spite of the ache I knew ye both held in your hearts for dear Lorna. Yours was always a lovely house to go in to and I spent some wonderful evening and days there. I hope ye find some comfort in how well loved your wife and mother and grand mother and aunt and sister in law was and the fact that she is finally getting to again embrace dear Lorna 42 years later. May God bless and comfort ye all and rest in peace and Good night dear Irene.
