It was a true honor to meet and hear words of encouragement from Father Fahey and have him support our journey on the walk. I am sorry for your loss. The Biggins family spoke highly of him. Fr Frank was one iin a million A humble man,wonderful priest, historian ,innovator and a man of the people. His many achievements in Ballintuber and beyond will be remembered forever. His restoration of the Abbey,The Celtic furrow, the retreats he ran to Church Island and his painstaking renovation of the small church there .The Tochar Phadraig which he developed and use to act as a guide. on. I was priveleged to walk with him on this pilgrimage a few times. It ran through my grandmothers land in Hazelrock where we used to stop at the Holy well. His First Friday visits to my mother were always a delight for her.Rest in eternal peace Your work is done.. RIP

There is so much good that can be said about Fr Frank, from his huge role in the development of the abbey over the past 40 years and his input into the community in general. His passion and love of history and local lore was an inspiration to many and positively infectious. He was delightfully humble and unfazed, whether he was dealing with James Bond or Boyzone or the locals, all were made to feel equally special. Thankfully the community appreciated all the good he brought to bear on so many peoples lives but for that alone he will be greatly missed by so many.
