Over the many years that we exchanged letters, St. Patrick’s Day cards and others I have enjoyed knowing her from a distance. Will miss having her on my list but I thank her son for alerting me to the sad news.

Eileen used to ring me every Sunday night for many years and we had long chats about so many things and she often spoke about her dear Linda to me as i have a special needs daughter Katie. Saddened to hear of Eileen’s passing.
Eileen was not only my late mother Patricia Commins hairdresser for close on 60 years they were also great friends. Eileen and family have always been held in the highest esteem by our family. We have a beautiful hand painted picture of Lough Conn and Nephin… an area close to her heart that she gave us when we moved into our home almost 25 years ago. Eileen was an exceptional lady with a heart of gold.

Mary, I was so deeply saddened to hear of your Mum’s passing. She truly was an exceptional woman with a heart of gold. Her home was always filled with warmth and the loveliest welcome, no matter how busy she was.

I have such treasured memories of your Mum from my time in St. Louis as a boarder, and later through many happy occasions socialising in Kiltimagh. She carried life’s great crosses with such dignity and quiet strength after the loss of your beautiful sister Linda and your adored Dad.
