Knockroe, Castlerea and formerly of Cloonlish, Ballinlough, Co. Roscommon and Birmingham (April 27th, 2026) – peacefully in the loving care of the staff of Aras Mhathair Phoil, Castlerea, surrounded by her loving family.
Predeceased by her beloved and adored husband Declan, her brother Tom, her parents Tom and Catherine, her grandson Declan and her grandnephew baby Darragh.
Beloved mother to Ann McDonald (Birr), Siobhan Morgan (Craughwell), John (Castlerea), Caitlin Hester (Castlerea), Thomas (Birr) and Declan (Dublin).
Doreen will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her heartbroken children, her adored grandchildren; Leah, Eve, Emma, Matthew, Lillian, Declan, Ruby, Finn, Dexter, Rozalyn, MJ, Seamus and Zach. Sons-in-law Clifford, Enda and Ollie, daughter-in-law Erin, John’s partner Valerie and Thomas’s partner Grace. Her brothers and sisters Eddie, (Ballinlough), Ellen (Garvey, Ballinlough), Michael (Navan), Catherine (Mattimoe, Boyle), Noel (New York), Louise (Kelly, Ballinlough), Bernadette (McHugh, Castlerea) and Theresa (Boylan, Ballinlough). Brothers-in-law Geno, Michael, Dermot, sisters-in-law Grainne and Colleen. Also, by the Murphy family; John and Lily Murphy Castlerea, Mairead and Owen McMahon (Dublin) and Michael Murphy and his partner Annmarie Carroll (Athlone), her nephews, nieces, grandnephews, grandnieces, uncles, aunts, cousins, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at McDonagh’s Funeral Home Castlerea (F45 V2Y4), on Wednesday evening from 4.30pm until 7:00pm.
Funeral arriving to St. Patrick’s Church, Castlerea on Thursday morning for Mass of the Resurrection at 11 o’clock with burial afterwards in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Castlerea.
