Con (Michael) Niland

Tumgesh, Swinford and formerly of Sale, Manchester, UK – peacefully in the care and kindness of the Sacred Heart Hospital, Castlebar on 15th March 2026

Predeceased by his parents Ellen and Michael, his brothers Peter, Joe, Pat and James and his sister Mary. R.I.P.

He will be missed by his sister Bea and his nieces Angela, Patricia and Mary. Also Peter, Jerry, Michael, Stevie, Paula and Patricia in America, his close relatives in London Jimmy, Mary, Catherine and Thomas Neary, family circle, neighbours and friends.

Reposing in Campbell’s Funeral Home, Swinford, F12 YE00 on Wednesday, 18th March from 5 o’clock until 6.30 with removal to Our Lady Help of Christians Church, Swinford arriving at 7 o’clock.

Funeral Mass will take place on Thursday at 12 noon prior to burial in Kilconduff Cemetery.

Con was in the parish of St Joseph’s in Sale for many years. I remember him well as a wonderful and faithful parishioner. He was the school Caretaker for many years. He came on trips with the parish and I well remember our summer visit to Llandudno in Wales. I see his Requiem Mass is on the Solemnity of St Joseph. The link is there with our parish until the end.
