So sorry to hear that Cahal is know longer with us.
He was a true leader and a really nice man.
Our thoughts are with his family, he will be so missed.

I was deeply saddened to hear of Cahal’s passing. Although we only became close in the last couple of years of school, they were some of the best times, full of laughter and great memories.

Cahal was always brilliant craic to be around. I’ll never forget his unwavering love for Man City, and how I used to slag him that they’d never be a proper team like Liverpool — how wrong I was! Football was something we both loved, and I often think back to the day we even forged notes to skip school just to watch a Republic of Ireland match. Off to the pub we went for the game and a couple of pints, before strolling back in for evening study like nothing had happened. It still makes me smile.

He was a genuinely good friend to me at a time when people in school were making my school years miserable, and I’ll always be grateful for that. I only wish we’d had the chance to meet again and laugh about those days.

Rest in peace, Cahal. You’ll always be remembered, and truly missed.
