We worked together in ICU at GUH for many years.
She was a wonderful knowledgeable and experienced Nurse…so kind, compassionate, empathetic to her patients, their families and to her colleagues.
Especially kind to new staff, junior nurses, I learned a lot from her.
May she Rest in Peace

Paul, sorry to hear of your loss. May Briege rest in peace. I buried my own son, Paul last Friday he died suddenly aged 39.

You would always know when Briege was on duty …her laugh you would hear before you see her …if she got into a giggle it could go on and on..

I trained in nursing with Briege in the Galway Regional Hospital (as it was then known) in the late 1970’s & then later to Doncaster for midwifery. She was a great friend and had a gift for communicating with others, a marvelous sense of fun and our social life was hectic! I am very sorry to hear she passed away. Condolences to Paul, and to the Loughrey men, her nephews, whose Mam Maura I knew well also. God rest them both.
