Where does one start… Berni, we first met almost 40 years ago on our first day of national school back in Clogher, and what fun times we had.

School trips, play dates (although they weren’t called that back then), work visits with your mam, and trips down to Breaffy to visit your Uncle Jack — along with being chased by the ducks and geese at the house.

Years passed by, school days changed, and our careers took us on different paths, but there were always the chats on the street or the messages checking in, especially when you were looking for funding for your latest project.

Your good deed on this earth is done, and now you are needed for a bigger project with the man above.

To James, Emma, Aiden, and Mary Ann, I offer my deepest sympathy and will be thinking of you all over the coming days, weeks, and months.

Sleep easy, Berni, until we meet again. 💔💔

It’s so sad to hear of Berni’s Passing.

Omg im in shock… my parents visited Burkes across the road, we always ended up in Heneghans. I formed a great friendship with Bernie over the years, she supported and directed me through my husbands illness. May the lord enfold her in his mercy and grand her eternal life.
