Anne Cunnane née O’Shea

Our deepest condolences Tony and to all the family. We just got this terribly sad news today. Anne was such a lovely and warm lady and we have such great memories of our week in Italy with you only a few short years ago and our day out in Dublin. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Rest in Peace Anne.

First of all I want to say to Anne’s husband or Mrs. Cunnane as I knew my Teacher as – Anthony & to Catriona, Louise & Padraig – my apologies in this late condolence/sympathy.
I just want to say that I Loved Mrs. Cunnane as I did a lot of my teachers in St. Aidans National School Kiltimagh…I will always remember how she got us all/my class penpals from Scotland through a Lady Teacher she knew in Scotland.
She was also one of the teachers in St. Aidan’s who looked after my beautiful Nieces Hazel & Sharon O’ Mahony when my Sister came home from New York. May beautiful Mrs. Cunnane now rest in peace & my deepest sympathy to you Anthony & yours & Anne’s beautiful family & extended family. Take care. Fiona Lavin Past Student

The O’Shea family, with a Cork father and Galway mother, have made an immense contribution to the Kiltimagh community over the decades as well as to the various communities in which they have settle in other parts of the country over the years. Genuine people to the core. The same can be said for the Cunnane family too. Anne rendered kind deeds all her life. She will be fondly remembered and missed by many.

I am so sorry that my friend and former Colleague, Anne has died.
Anne was a very special person, kind, gentle, caring, generous,personable,gifted.
As well as being a great,caring teacher, Anne had many other gifts, Cookery and Baking (She was renowned for her wonderful cakes),Arts and Crafts,Golfing,Organisational skills and many others.
She shared her gifts generously with family, pupils and friends.
Anne’s passing leaves a huge void in the lives of Tony. Catriona,Louise,Padraic, Deirdre, her 6 brothers,the extended family and her many. many friends.

As Deputy Principal and later as Principal from 2015 to 2020, Anne guided the school with wisdom, warmth, and an unwavering belief in the potential of every child. She will be remembered not only for her professionalism and leadership but also for her compassion and the genuine care she showed to all who knew her. We will miss her greatly. Rest in peace Anne.

Like so many I am greatly saddened to hear of Anne’s passing.

Anne loved living & demonstrated this by her many hobbies in which she excelled.
During one of my recent visits Mairead hosted a Women’s Evening. Anne was present & as always looking great. It was an entertaining evening with lots of stories & laughs- it is a lovely memory to have.
