James L. Hughes

JAMES-HUGHES-

Warrenville, Chicago and formerly of Curracrow, Hollymount, Claremorris, Co. Mayo – peacefully, on September 3rd 2025 surrounded by his loving family.

Predeceased by his parents Sean and Catherine Hughes, brothers Michael, Patrick, Peter and John, sisters Agnes, Mary and Catherine.

James will be sadly missed by his adored children Katie (Krist), Ann (Matt) and James, grandchildren Keeley, Keira, Keegan, Jacob, Joshua and Josephine, his sister Margaret (Meath), brothers Tom (Small Tom, Curracrow) and Richard (USA), nieces, nephews and a wide circle of friends in both Chicago and Ireland.

May his gentle soul rest in peace.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 7th 2025, from 2 o’clock until 7:00 p.m. at Williams-Kampp Funeral Home, 430 E. Roosevelt Road, Wheaton (one block east of Naperville Road).

Funeral Mass will take place at Saint Daniel the Prophet Catholic Church in Wheaton at 10:00am on Monday, September 8, 2025.

Interment to Assumption Catholic Cemetery in Wheaton.

James will be remembered for his devotion to family, his Irish spirit (Up Mayo!) and the love he shared with all.
