The young woman who died after suffering fatal injuries in a car crash in Tuam, County Galway, has been named locally.
Samantha Gannon (19), from Tuam, died following a two-vehicle collision last Sunday, July 13, at around 6.05pm on the Ballygaddy Road.
Samantha was driving one of the two cars and was rushed in critical condition to University Hospital Galway, where she later passed away.
Gardaà are appealing for anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
The driver of the second car, a man in his 20s, and a passenger in that car, a woman in her 30s, were both treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Anybody who was in the Ballygaddy Road area between 5.50pm and 6.15pm and who may have witnessed the incident should contact investigating gardaÃ.
Any road users who were travelling in this vicinity at the time, and who may have camera footage including dash cam, are asked to make this footage available to investigating gardaÃ.
