Unions representing 80,000 health workers will meet with the HSE again on Saturday, in a last ditch effort to resolve a row over staffing levels.
Marathon talks at the Workplace Relations Commission – aimed at ending a planned work-to-rule from Monday – ended without agreement in the early hours of this morning.
It’s thought the HSE requires time to consider proposals put forward by the unions – with both parties reconvening at the WRC again over the weekend.
