Victims of separate fatal collisions in Galway named

A 29 year old man and a 6 year old girl tragically died in separate road collisions in County Galway over the weekend.

On Friday last, a serious collision occurred on the N67 at Tonroe, Oranmore, at approximately 4:00pm.

The incident involved a motorcycle and another vehicle, and the driver of the motorcycle died at the scene from his injuries.

He has since been named locally as 29 year old Patrick De Le Ruelle, of Knockakilleen, Kinvara.

Mr. De Le Ruelle will be laid to rest on Wednesday in his native Kinvara.

On Saturday, another serious collision took place on the Headford Road in Galway, involving a truck and a bike.

Six year old Ula Grigaityte, who was cycling her bike, was struck by an oil delivery truck on the junction of the Headford Road and Sandyvale Lawn.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The male driver of the truck, a man in his 30s, was not injured.

Ula Grigaityte’s funeral details are yet to be announced.
