Ukrainians gathered outside of the Dáil today in protest against the government’s decision to limit supports to refugees.
Last week it was announced Ukrainians will only be given 30 days in State accommodation before they would be forced to leave and seek alternative housing.
Protesters say this change, on top of cuts to the Accommodation Recognition Payment earlier this year, have made it even harder for refugees to source accommodation.
Tánaiste Simon Harris says the reduction in support was a necessary decision as numbers arriving from Ukraine continue to rise.
