Uisce Éireann crews on Clare Island repairing burst

Uisce Éireann crews arrived on Clare Island this morning to repair a major water main burst.

A number of customers on the island are experiencing a disruption to their water supply following the burst over the weekend. The areas affected included Kill, Glen, Fawnlass, Capnagower and the Quay.

Bottled water has been made available for residents and visitors to the island.

Uisce Éireann’s Colette Scahill assured customers that crews are on site today and are carrying out repair works as quickly as possible.

“We understand how disruptive unplanned outages are and we regret the inconvenience caused. We are working to restore normal supply across to customers affected.”

Vulnerable customers who have registered with Uisce Éireann receive direct communications from us for planned and unplanned outages lasting more than four hours.
