Sligo Bay RNLI were tasked with two callouts over the weekend.
Firstly, on Friday, a surfer got into difficulty in Strandhill when they got caught in a rip current.
Thankfully, they were able to paddle ashore themselves.
Sligo RNLI’s lifeboat crew members were on standby to ensure the person was alright.
Then, on Saturday, a concerned member of the public called emergency services to report what they saw as a person in difficulty while paddling on a board on the channel off Coney Island.
The lifeboat, named the ‘Sheila & Dennis Tongue’, was launched and the volunteer crew spoke to the person who was, thankfully, able to paddle safely back to shore at the Yacht Club.
