The Government is under pressure to put an expert panel in place to analyse children’s hip surgeries.

Sinn Fein is making the call after an audit found many hip surgeries at Temple Street and Cappagh hospitals may not have been required.

Only 20 to 40 per cent met clinical criteria for requiring surgery.

Sinn Fein’s Health spokesperson David Cullinane says the Government’s taken too long to get an expert panel ready.
