The death has taken place of Bridie Greavy (née Bourke), of Bonniconlon, Ballina.
Her passing has evoked a great sense of loss in the local community.
Mrs. Greavy served as an elected member of Mayo County Council during the mid 1980s.
She will be sadly missed by her sons Damien Thomas and Fintan, daughter Siobhán, extended family and wide circle of friends.
Mrs. Greavy was also mother-in-law of Minister Dara Calleary.
Local Fianna Fáil councillor Annie May Reape has described the late Mrs. Greavy as a “true pillar of the community in Bonniconlon”.
She has been speaking to Midwest Radio’s Rian Bailey this morning:
Bridie Greavy’s Funeral Mass will take place at 12 noon in the Church of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Bonniconlon.
She will be laid to rest afterwards in Bonniconlon Cemetery.
