Works are to get underway this morning on the installation of new traffic controls at the Font in Ballina.
This has been confirmed by local Fianna Fáil councillor Annie May Reape.
The existing traffic lights caused a level of confusion over the weekend at the junction, and the upgrade of works has been welcomed.
“These lights will be modern and the same as the lights recently installed at Bunree which have made a huge positive difference to traffic delays in the area”, cllr Reape explained.
“I expect that the new lights will ease congestion at the Font and on the approach into the town”, she continued.
