Gardai have been in contact regarding today’s historic URC clash between Connacht and Munster at Hastings Insurance McHale Park.
They have urged supporters to arrive early.
Gates open at 12:30pm and the game kicks off from 2:30pm while those attending the match are being asked to check their email from Connacht Rugby and to be aware of the turnstiles they must use to enter the grounds.
For those using buses, there is bus parking being made available at the Military Barracks in Castlebar, while Irish Rail have added additional services from Athlone to Castlebar and retuning again.
Those who wish to drive to the game are being urged to use designated parking areas, adhere to any parking restrictions that may be in place and be respectful to residents in the area.
Approximately 27,000 people are expected to descend on the county town this Saturday.
Motorists are being told to expect delays in and around Castlebar both before and after the game and to be patient.
