The Government is being urged to respond to the climate crisis with the urgency and commitment it deserves.
Friends of the Earth is making the call on Earth Day with the aim of highlighting the importance of protecting the environment.
The group says Oireachtas committees must scrutinise policies which impact climate action as well as the responses of Ministers and state bodies to their climate commitments.
It wants the Government to tackle what it calls “runaway data centre expansion” and our “escalating reliance on fossil fuel infrastructure”.
