TDs will have a free vote in the Dáil today on whether to remove the three day wait period for an abortion in early pregnancy.
The Sinn Fein motion – if passed – will amend the legislation that was signed into law in September 2018.
The Taoiseach, Tánaiste and Health Minister have indicated their support for the bill to go through to committee stage.
Voting is due to take place in the Dáil chamber around 10 o’clock tonight.
