The Fianna Fail TD for Roscommon-Galway has welcomed confirmation that the Department of Health is progressing plans to enhance eating disorder services in the west and midlands.
Dr Martin Daly said he has had detailed discussions with the Minister of State for Mental Health, Mary Butler, who has confirmed her commitment to advancing this project through the HSE capital plan.
The new plans include a six-bed specialist inpatient eating disorder unit in Roscommon and a Galway–Roscommon Community Adult Eating Disorder Team.
