The Tánaiste and Minister for Defence, Simon Harris will perform the official opening of the new €1.4 million helicopter hangar for the Air Corps-operated Emergency Aeromedical Service at Custume Barracks, Athlone at midday today.
Since its introduction, the Athlone-based service has completed more than 4,300 missions throughout the country, many of which have saved lives.
