Mayo social media star Garron Noone has deactivated his social media accounts.
This comes as the Ballina native faces backlash on a recent video on the topics of immigration and Conor McGregor’s visit to the White House.
Noone is a comedian and singer, who has amassed over 1.7 million followers on TikTok alone.
In the video, he explained that he is constantly asked for his opinion on political matters, and received a large number of requests after McGregor’s meeting with President Donald Trump.
Noone stated that while he doesn’t support the former UFC fighter, his stance on immigration does resonate with a lot of people around the country.
“There absolutely is an immigration issue in Ireland”, Noone said.
“That doesn’t mean that people feel like we shouldn’t take the refugees we’re able to take. It doesn’t mean that people feel like people shouldn’t be able to come here for better opportunities”, he continued.
Following the backlash to the video, Noone appears to have deleted both his Instagram and TikTok accounts.
Many social media influencers from across the country have shown their support for the Ballina man, in hope that he can return to the industry.
Fellow Mayo men Alan Clarke and Stephen ‘Cowboy’ Kelly are among the social media personalities who have publicized their support for Noone.
