Uisce Éireann crews are working to repair a significant burst to a water main in Swinford.
Customers in the town and surrounding areas are experiencing a disruption to water supplies as a result of the burst.
Repairs are due to be completed later this evening. In the meantime, an alternative water supply is available to customers affected at Swinford Hospital, outside the Gateway Hotel and Mellett’s Public House.
Uisce Éireann is asking customers to use their own containers when taking water from tankers and to boil water before consumption as a precautionary measure.
The water body say it can take two to three hours following repairs for normal supply to be restored to all customers affected by a burst pipe, and possibly longer for customers on higher ground or at the end of the network.
