Short-term lets register plans go to Cabinet

Plans for a controversial short-term letting register are going before Cabinet this morning.

It’s intended to clamp down on AirBnB-style accommodation and generate more long-term rental housing.

However, it’s been delayed and the legislation is unlikely to be passed before the Dáil breaks for the summer, due to a row between the Departments of Housing and Tourism.
