There’s a new appeal for information today – 20 years after the murder of Emer O’Loughlin at Ballybornagh, Tubber, Co. Clare.
Gardaí are asking the public to get in touch if they have any piece of information they feel might help.
Human remains were discovered in a burned out mobile home at Tubber, Co Clare, on April 8 2005, close to where 23 year old Emer O’Loughlin lived with her boyfriend.
The mobile belonged to a man named John Griffin, also known as ‘Fozzie’, who Gardaí have since been trying to contact.
The remains were later identified as Emer’s – and forensic tests indicated she’d died a violent death.
Gardaí believe John Griffin – who’d now be 57 – may have information that can assist them, and two decades on, they hope the public can help with efforts to trace him.
He was formerly of the Mervue area of Galway City, with a last confirmed sighting, on the Aran Island of Inis Mór.
