Sales of new electric cars continue to grow, according to the Society of the Irish Motor Industry.
There was a 36 per cent increase in the number of EVs registered in February compared to the same month last year.
Since the start of the year, more than 7 thousand 400 new electric cars were registered, up 25 per cent on the 5 thousand 900 figure recorded for the first two months in 2024.
Electric vehicles still account for around 15 per cent of overall car sales figures.
