The new Cathaoirleach of Roscommon County Council will be appointed today.
Fine Gael councillor Liam Callaghan is set to take up the position, following in the footsteps of his late father, Tom, who sadly passed away earlier this month.
Tom Callaghan was first citizen of Roscommon in 1996 & 1997.
Cllr Liam Callaghan looks set to take over from Paschal Fitzmaurice at today’s local authority meeting.
Fianna Fáil cllr John Keogh is likely to become the Leas Cathaoirleach of the authority.
