Reopening of Ballaghaderreen pool to create 25 jobs

The reopening of Ballaghaderreen swimming pool will create up to 25 new jobs.
That’s according to the Roscommon Herald, who also understand that the new operator of the pool is the company that runs Splash Swim Schools, which specialises in the provision of swimming lessons nationwide.
Established in 2015, Splash Swim Schools have overseen the development of more than 6,000 swimmers in this time and will celebrate 10 years in business this year.
The pool, located at the former Abbeyfield Hotel in Ballaghaderreen, has been closed since December 2022, and many have had to travel long distances to avail of swimming facilities.
The pool was meant to reopen earlier this year, but talks fell through, with this news set to be widely welcomed within the locality.
