Mayo Pyrite Action Group is holding a public meeting this evening.
The meeting takes place at 7pm in the Great National Hotel in Ballina.
Mayo Pyrite Action Group is made up of homeowners in the county whose homes were built with defective concrete blocks containing pyrite.
Their primary goal is to raise awareness about this issue, which causes horizontal and vertical cracking on the outside and inside of homes as the blocks crumble.
The group lobbies for a more comprehensive and effective government grant scheme for homeowners to repair their damaged homes, which they argue is currently inadequate and not fit for purpose.
