Farmers, exporters and others involved in Ireland’s live export trade are being invited to a public meeting in Athlone this Saturday.
Independent Ireland MEP Ciarán Mullooly and Agriculture Spokesperson Michael Fitzmaurice are organising the meeting to discuss the challenges currently facing the live export sector.
The meeting will focus on finding solutions and increasing export capacity, following recent developments affecting the movement of calves and weanlings.
A number of the country’s major livestock exporters are expected to attend, along with farmers and representatives from across the agricultural sector.
The meeting takes place at the Athlone Springs Hotel this Saturday evening at 7.30pm.
