General Nursing students in Atlantic Technological University (ATU) Mayo are hosting a public information Cancer Awareness event on Thursday 27 March (10am to 1pm) at the Castlebar campus as part of their degree studies module “Oncology, End of Life and Palliative Care”.
The event is being hosted by staff in the Dept of Nursing, Health Science and Integrated Care in partnership with the Irish Cancer Society.
The third-year students learn the key characteristics of the main groups of cancers and the event is an opportunity to share this information and knowledge with the public.
The students will have stands about six different types of cancer and what to look out for.
