Public drinking banned in Tuam and surrounding areas

New rules have come into force in Tuam and its surrounding areas banning the drinking of alcohol in public places.

Tuam is now the first municipal district in the county, outside of Galway City, to bring in the bye-laws, and others are now considering bringing in similar measures.

The new rules cover areas including Tuam, Milltown, Headford, Kilconly, and Dunmore.
