Today sees the launch of a public consultation on Ireland’s plans to tackle food waste.
It forms part of Ireland’s next National Food Waste Prevention Roadmap, which will set out a plan to help the country reduce food waste across the food supply chain. The roadmap will also lay out how Ireland is to follow legally binding EU food waste reduction targets in the next four years.
It comes as the EPA reports over 700,000 tonnes of food were wasted here in 2024.
Today’s consultation has been launched by Local Minister of State with special responsibility for the Circular Economy, Alan Dillon.
