The long awaited new Great Western Greenway route through Newport town is progressing. The new route through the busy tourist town will make the facility much safer in terms of road traffic.
Local councillor Peter Flynn says the National Roads Office in Mayo will be issuing out the Part 8 application this Tuesday (June 24th).
The Fine Gael councillor says plans and particulars of the proposed scheme, will be available for viewing on the online consultation portal https://planning.localgov.ie
Details will also be available for viewing or purchase at Westport Municipal District Office, Altamont Street, or the Planning Office, Mayo County Council, Áras an Chontae, The Mall, Castlebar.
The Plans & Particulars will be on display from Tuesday, until Wednesday, 23rd July ,and submissions can be made online or in writing until Thursday, 7th August 2025.
