A Mayo TD has said that a long-stalled wastewater project for Newport has “finally moved off the shelf and back onto the table”.
Aontú’s Paul Lawless received confirmation that the Maritime Area Regulatory Authority has instructed Uisce Éireann to proceed to public
consultation on the Maritime Usage Licence application.
This will allow Uisce Éireann to carry out foreshore surveys in Clew Bay to identify the most appropriate location for a wastewater treatment
plant to serve Newport.
Deputy Paul Lawless has been giving more details to Midwest Radio’s Scott Stephens.
