The incoming President could be facing littering fines, with a number of election posters still up around the country.
Catherine Connolly won the Presidential Election on October 24, and will officially become the 10th President of Ireland next Tuesday, November 11.
A quantity of her posters remain erect in Balla, according to the Irish Independent, and others have been spotted in recent days in the county town of Castlebar.
Under the Litter Pollution Act 1997, election candidates may put up posters only 30 days before polling day and must remove them within seven days after the election – meaning they had to be down at midnight on Halloween night, October 31.
Ms Connolly, who received 63.4% of the vote in a landslide victory, could face fines of €150 for each poster that remains up past the applicable date.
