One of the most popular tourist attractions in County Sligo has announced its closure.
Eagles Flying, which is based in Ballymote, is to close due to “unforeseen circumstances”.
The announcement was made yesterday evening by Lothar Muschketat, proprietor of the business, who thanked the public for their support to the sanctuary throughout the years.
Eagles Flying is Ireland’s largest sanctuary for raptors and owls, and houses the Irish Raptor Research Centre.
Many species of eagles, hawks, owls, falcons and vultures have made the Ballymote base their home, with many different species of other birds and animals, like deer, skunk and foxes.
Mr. Muschketat also encouraged anyone with a valid voucher for Eagles Flying to make contact on 087 211 0538, and they will make a refund.
