The state of the road surface on one of the county’s busiest tourist routes is completely unacceptable, according to a Louisburgh based councillor.
Councillor Chris Maxwell says the R335 road that links Westport to Murrisk and onto Louisburgh has been left in a very poor state following a major new water scheme for the Murrisk/ Kilsallagh area.
He raised the matter at the monthly meeting of MCC earlier this week and was told by council management that a small amount of funding is available to address it.
