Plans for Shrule pedestrian crossing advancing

A speed ramp is needed along the Tuam road in Kilmaine to help slow down the speed of traffic on the road.

That’s according to Councillor Patsy O’Brien, who says out of the 1500 vehicles that use the stretch of road each day, around 85% of them are not under the 50km speed limit once they enter the village.

He says while he welcomes measures that have been announced for the stretch of road, he will still push for a speed ramp to be introduced.

Additionally he says that plans for a pedestrian crossing in Shrule are advancing, and he hopes to see it progressing in the coming months.
