The majority of community pharmacists across the region and nationally have rolled out the new Common Conditions Service, and that means that pharmacists can now treat up to eight health problems, without a customer having to go to their GP.

It recognises the central role pharmacies play in Irish communities. The initiative is being described as a gamechanger, particularly for rural areas with limited GP availability.
