People are being advised to be ‘sun smart’ and protect their skin by wearing SPF cream, long sleeves and hats.
The sunny weather is forecast to continue until Saturday, with highs of 19 degrees today in parts of the west and southwest.
Met Éireann is reporting a moderate UV index, which means protection is needed to prevent sun damage.
