The HSE has implemented an upgraded patient transport service between Sligo University Hospital and Galway University Hospital, which comes into effect today (Tuesday November 4).
The upgraded patient transport service provides for wheelchair accessibility and on-board toilet facilities, improving comfort and accessibility for passengers.
Sligo based councillor Marie Casserly has warmly welcomed the news, sating that the service will continue to support oncology patients travelling from Sligo to Galway University Hospital for radiotherapy treatment.
The free service will be operational five days a week, with McGrath coaches appointed as the service provider.
