Fianna Fáil TD for Mayo and Minister for Rural and Community Development and the Gaeltacht Dara Calleary has announced over €3 million in funding for Coillte recreational sites.
The €3.13 million allocation will go towards new trail infrastructure and ongoing maintenance at 224 sites across the country.
Among the areas to receive funding is Belleek Woods, which is to receive over €100,000 for the installation of play features as part of a new woodland play trail, and Monivea Forest in Galway, which is to receive €76,000 for car park improvement works as well as a trail upgrade.
